Questions about SMS services
Are these SMS services available outside Egypt?
No. All of our SMS services are available inside Egypt only, because they depend on licensing and agreements with the Egyptian mobile networks.
What is the difference between Mobile Area SMS and Location-Based SMS?
Mobile Area SMS is a campaign aimed at a chosen geographic area such as a district or a city. Location-Based SMS fires when a visitor actually arrives at an eligible place such as a mall or an exhibition. The first targets an area; the second responds to an arrival.
Do I need a separate sender-name activation for each service?
One sender-name activation covers both Bulk SMS and the API, at a one-time fee of EGP 2,150. Once it succeeds, 1,000 SMS units are credited once to your account and can be used across both services.
How do I know which service I need?
If you have your customers’ numbers, that is Bulk SMS. If your system will do the sending, that is the API. If you want a new audience in an area, that is Mobile Area SMS. If you want to reach people as they arrive somewhere, that is Location-Based SMS.
